Spring ‘26 Window
This window display was a nod to one of the library’s spring programs on offer: a series of talks on the topic of birds. Browsing Pinterest for ideas, I stumbled on some gorgeous stained glass artwork featuring the work of Charley Harper. Real stained glass is gorgeous, but for the library worker without an art budget tissue paper stained glass is the next best thing.
We featured three easily identifiable birds common in Maine: the bluejay, cardinal, and Baltimore oriole (the cheeky nod to baseball’s spring training was a nice bonus). Volunteers prepped the tissue paper and helped place a lot of it, but most of the work fell to me. This display was well-received by library visitors, so I’m calling it a win!
